Response to Fitch scrutiny, DJP confident 2026 tax revenue target will be achieved
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto responded to the scrutiny by the global rating agency Fitch Ratings of Indonesia’s fiscal position by saying he is confident that the 2026 tax revenue target can be achieved. Bimo at a media briefing at the Headquarters of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) in Jakarta, on Thursday, said the tax revenue trend has been improving since early 2026. In January, net tax revenue grew 30.7 percent year-on-year (yoy), from Rp88.9 trillion in January last year to Rp116.2 trillion this year. Meanwhile, gross tax revenue grew 7 percent yoy, from Rp159.1 trillion to Rp170.3 trillion this year. For February, the Director General of Taxes said net revenue growth was 30.2 percent and gross 19 percent. “That means we are very optimistic. We will maintain this performance from the start of the year. Hopefully the 2026 target can be achieved,” said Bimo.
