Residents of Cimahi and West Bandung Can Deposit Vehicles at Police Station Free of Charge
As the Eid homecoming season approaches this year, the Cimahi Police Department (Polres Cimahi) is providing a free vehicle deposit service for residents of Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency (KBB), and Margaasih who will be leaving home to return to their hometowns. Vehicles that will not be taken to their hometowns can be deposited at the Cimahi Police Headquarters on Jalan Raya Jendral Amir Machmud, Cimahi City, or at 13 police substations throughout the Cimahi Police jurisdiction.
The Cimahi Police Chief, AKBP Niko Nuraah Adi Putra, assured the public of the security of deposited vehicles. “For residents who wish to travel home but will not be bringing their vehicles, they can deposit them at the police substations and at the Cimahi Police Headquarters,” said AKBP Niko on Sunday (9 March 2026).
He explained that to deposit a vehicle at a police substation, residents only need to bring copies of their national identity card (KTP) and vehicle registration document (STNK) or ownership certificate (BPKB). This facilitates the verification process for vehicle ownership. The vehicle deposit service is free of charge.
“When the vehicle is deposited and later retrieved, it will be easy for officers to validate,” said Niko.
Niko continued, explaining that the police are providing the free vehicle deposit facility during the Eid holiday period as an effort to provide security and comfort whilst minimising the potential for criminal activity. “Rather than storing vehicles at home, it is better to deposit them with the police. Residents who travel home will be comfortable and at peace leaving their vehicles because they will be well looked after,” said Niko.
Niko urged residents planning to travel home to also report to their neighbourhood administrators (RT and RW). This will facilitate supervision whilst homes are left empty.
“Our officers will also conduct surveillance of residential areas through the community policing programme. We will also deploy officers to patrol and prevent potential criminal activity during the homecoming season,” said Niko.
