Researchers poor in methodology

MEDAN: A university professor here has said that the weak
research methodology has caused difficulties to researchers at
various colleges in this province.

Dr. H.M. Solly Lubis said on Saturday that as a result, many
research proposals have been rejected by the State University of
North Sumatra and other local colleges.

Lubis urged colleges to continue with their training programs
on research methodology for junior lecturers and young
researchers in order to improve quality, Antara reported.

The professor, who is the former head of the Social and
Cultural Research Center of the University of North Sumatra, said
it is high time now to introduce junior researchers to the system
of research and development management. (tis)
