Relocation of homes damaged by the landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, West Java has yet to find a solution. Affected residents are currently renting temporary accommodation and taking refuge with relatives.

Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Bandung Regency Ade Zakir stated that a consultation meeting had been held once between the village administration and the Village Consultative Body (BPD) of Pasirlangu but had not resulted in agreement regarding the use of village-owned land (TKD) as a location for relocating homes of residents affected by the landslide. “There is no relocation site yet. Only one village meeting has been held but we have not reached consensus on village-owned land. There will be another meeting later,” said Ade Zakir, on Sunday (1 March 2026).

Based on data from the Regional Office for Community and Village Empowerment (DPMD), Ade Zakir disclosed, the TKD owned by Pasirlangu Village is recorded at 75 hectares. However, the land requirement for relocation is estimated not to be that large.

“We will calculate based on the number of household heads multiplied by the minimum area. If we refer to BNPB standards, the minimum area is 60 square metres per unit,” he explained.

The local government is opening the option of land-swap arrangements as a solution. This scheme is expected to transform the affected area into permanent green space, whilst residents obtain replacement land suitable for habitation.

“We hope for that outcome. The affected land could be reforested, and the replacement land could be inhabited,” said Ade Zakir.
