Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar has urged educational institutions to develop an ecotheology approach and the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC) to create hegemony and a robust social educational ecosystem.

“I urge all educational institutions to develop ecotheology and the Love Curriculum. Let us become an example for the international world that love is the best path to resolving all existing problems,” said Nasaruddin at Jakarta Cathedral on Saturday.

He stated that recently, around 305,000 religious teachers from various religions provided testimonials on the results of the Love Curriculum. He admitted to feeling chills upon hearing their positive responses.

“Extraordinary, I even felt chills hearing it. From Sabang to Merauke, they shared stories that since the Love Curriculum was implemented, children have come to love animals, plants, and the entire universe. Previously, nature was merely treated as an object,” said Nasaruddin.

Previously, the Ministry of Religious Affairs held a national-scale online KBC training attended by 305 participants. They were not only dominated by educators and teachers but also by general community elements concerned with improving the character of the nation’s children.

The Love-Based Curriculum essentially serves as an instrument to introduce the Five Loves to children and to cultivate their awareness of love for God and the Prophet, love for self and others, love for the natural environment, love for knowledge, and love for the homeland.

Nasaruddin revealed that during one year of trials, the curriculum has transformed classrooms into joyful and liberating learning gardens for children’s souls.
