Regional Heads Urged to Issue Derivative Regulations on Anti-Corruption Education in Schools
Jakarta - The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian, has instructed regional heads to prepare derivative regulations in the form of Regional Regulations (Perda) and technical instructions to implement Anti-Corruption Education.
This was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus during the launch of the Guidebook and Teaching Materials for Corruption Education at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Jakarta on Monday (11/5/2026).
“Mr Minister of Home Affairs has instructed governors, regents, and mayors, first, to immediately prepare derivative regulations in the regions, whether in the form of Perda or other technical instructions, to ensure the implementation of anti-corruption education by utilising the available corruption guidebook and teaching materials,” said Akhmad.
“By reviewing anti-corruption education in their respective regions as well as making updates if necessary,” he added.
Akhmad also instructed regional heads through the Education Offices to report the results of Anti-Corruption Education implementation via the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) platform.
“Then strengthen regional inspectorates’ monitoring and evaluation of implementation by educational units,” he stated.
Akhmad said that anti-corruption education serves as the foundation for the character and integrity of Indonesia’s future generations.
“We must instil values of honesty, responsibility, and discipline from an early age, especially during early childhood education and primary school, because it is at this age that character is formed,” he remarked.
