Reda Manthovani Launches 'Jagain' Programme to Support Indonesian NPC Development
The Jagain programme was introduced by Reda Manthovani, Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence at the Republic of Indonesia Attorney General’s Office, during his speech at the national working meeting (rakernas) of NPC Indonesia at the Lorin Hotel in Solo on Tuesday afternoon (28/4/26).
Reda Manthovani emphasised the importance of providing accessible data for all provincial administrators, the central NPC Indonesia board, and the Attorney General’s Office.
“We hope that NPC Indonesia administrators, from the centre, provinces, and regions, first have a data base, because with a data base, NPC will have strong legal standing in carrying out uniform guidance,” said Reda Manthovani.
In Law No. 16 Article 3 of 2004 on the Prosecutor’s Office, it is explained that through the intelligence sector, it ensures that local governments provide fair, equal, and inclusive treatment for people with disabilities in accordance with the Asta Cita programme.
The existence of the Jagain application makes it easier for disabled sports participants to report problems or work programmes in their areas. NPC Indonesia (central) together with prosecutorial institutions from the Attorney General’s Office, High Prosecutor’s Offices, and District Prosecutor’s Offices can assist in coordination, initial identification of audiences with relevant parties, policy advocacy, and support for reporting.
“That is the basis of the Jaga Inklusi or prosecutor guards disability programme. With this data base, prosecutors in district prosecutor’s offices can monitor, for example, people with disabilities who still face discrimination or inequality. Then, interventions can be carried out, requesting local governments to pay attention to disabled athletes,” explained Reda Manthovani.
Reda also believes that this programme will encourage better development of disabled athletes, even though the achievements already accomplished are extraordinary. Lastly, Indonesia successfully obtained 135 golds, 143 silvers, and 114 bronzes at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games, far exceeding the target of 82 gold medals.
“The hope is that with attention from respective local governments, it will become motivation for athletes in the regions, because what disabled athletes need is more attention. That’s why with JAGAIN, it is hoped that local governments can guard disabilities,” stated Reda Manthovani.
The programme outlined by Reda Manthovani received appreciation from NPC Indonesia provincial administrators. Imam Kuncoro, as the chairman of NPC Indonesia for the East Java province region, said the programme could be a solution for the development of disability sports.
“In today’s working meeting agenda, we have credible speakers, namely from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, from the Attorney General’s Office, and also from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Their presence at this Working Meeting is certainly very inspiring to us. And we also really hope that from their regulations, NPC throughout Indonesia will become great, especially the regulations from Mr Reda Manthovani as the representative of the Attorney General’s Office who has given extraordinary material,” said Imam Kuncoro.
Imam also proposed and fully supported Reda Manthovani becoming part of the big NPC Indonesia family.
“He is directly involved in the big NPCI family. And he is ready for us as provincial chairmen to make Mr Reda and Mr Attorney General’s Office become administrators and part of the big family in NPCI Indonesia,” said Imam Kuncoro.
The same was expressed by Alex Alua, chairman of NPC Indonesia for the Papua Pegunungan region. He welcomed positively the programmes presented at the NPC Indonesia national working meeting.
“I feel grateful because this is the first time we have attended the Rakernas event in Solo. And there are several presenters who gave very extraordinary material for us. Hopefully, after we return to Papua Pegunungan, we can implement the development programmes according to the guidance given in this Rakernas in Solo,” explained Alex Alua.
“And we as the administration from DOB (New Autonomous Region) have constraints of lack of training equipment. Earlier, Prof. Reda Manthovani wanted to help with training equipment so it really provides for us. We are ready to train and will contribute to preparing athletes there to participate in international events,” he added.
The Jagain programme is expected to help convey regional aspirations so that the development of disability sports becomes more massive and structured.
