JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has not implemented an adjustment to fuel prices (BBM) on 1 May 2026. The decision was made after considering various factors that are still under evaluation in consultation with the government. Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, stated that the decision took into account multiple factors currently being evaluated with the government. He added that the decision to adjust non-subsidised BBM prices does not rely on a single indicator but on various factors influencing economic pricing. These include movements in global oil prices, the rupiah exchange rate, and global geopolitical conditions. “In principle, adjustments to non-subsidy prices can be made at any time and refer to economic pricing determinants, including geopolitics and current domestic conditions,” said Roberth. Meanwhile, unlike Pertamina which is holding prices steady, private fuel station operators have begun adjustments. BP Indonesia’s fuel stations were observed to have raised diesel fuel prices on 2 May 2026. Previously, the fuel was sold for Rp 25,560 per litre. However, as of 2 May 2026, the price increased to Rp 30,890 per litre, or an increase of Rp 5,330 per litre. For other types of fuel at BP stations, such as BP 92, it remains at Rp 12,390 per litre and BP Ultimate at Rp 12,930 per litre, meaning no changes.
