JAKARTA - The Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Ahmad Muzani, stated that his side will repeat the organisation of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC) final in West Kalimantan (Kalbar).

Muzani acknowledged that there were mistakes and shortcomings that caused the previous LCC final to not run smoothly.

“In the case of West Kalimantan, we express our thanks and we all understand there were shortcomings, limitations, and mistakes in the organisation,” Muzani said during a press conference at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

According to Muzani, the judges involved in the previous final will no longer be involved, and they will seek them from outside the General Secretariat.

“The judges who will judge the Quiz Competition are independent judges,” Muzani explained.

In addition, MPR leadership will also directly supervise the rerun of the LCC final from beginning to end.

“We express our thanks and appreciation to the competition participants who used their right to express their views, freedom of speech, and to voice their dissatisfaction through protests, and we hear that as a way to train them to be a good example of democracy,” Muzani stated.

Meanwhile, following Muzani’s statement, SMAN 1 Pontianak emphasised that it will not participate in the rerun of the Four Pillars LCC at the West Kalimantan level.

That statement was conveyed by the school through an official stance signed by the Principal of SMAN 1 Pontianak, Indang Maryati, on Thursday (14/5/2026), following the dynamics and polemics that occurred in the Four Pillars LCC final.

In its statement, SMAN 1 Pontianak emphasised that the steps taken from the beginning were not to attack or undermine the credibility of the institution, committee, or certain individuals.

“SMAN 1 Pontianak has no intention of annulling the competition results, but only to obtain clarity on the points that were questioned,” Indang wrote.

SMAN 1 Pontianak also stated that it respects the established competition results and gives full support to SMAN 1 Sambas as West Kalimantan’s representative in the national-level Four Pillars LCC.

Abraham said that MPR leadership will discuss first before making a decision next week.

“Coincidentally, the MPR leadership has a joint meeting agenda on Monday, 18 May. So, we will convey that in the meeting and discussion later,” Abraham added.
