Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that the reporting of annual tax notices (SPT) specifically for individual taxpayers will be extended until 31 April 2026.

He explained that the extension of the reporting period—from the original deadline of 31 March 2026 for individual taxpayers—is due to the 2025 tax year reporting coinciding with the long holidays of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran in 2026.

“So until 31 April, extended by one month because of the holidays,” said Purbaya at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

In addition, due to the long holidays and the Lebaran homecoming period amidst the public, Purbaya stated that the extension of the annual SPT reporting deadline for individual taxpayers also considers minor issues often encountered with the Coretax system’s loading.

“Some people experience that, so we extend it,” Purbaya emphasised.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance revealed that the planned implementation of this extension for the annual SPT reporting deadline for individual taxpayers will also consider an evaluation of public reporting up to the end of March 2026.

Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations of DJP, Inge Diana Rismawanti, said that another option being considered is providing administrative sanction relief if the 2025 annual SPT reporting for individual taxpayers exceeds the 31 March deadline.

She stated that the 31 March deadline for annual income tax (PPh) SPT reporting for individual taxpayers is actually in line with the provisions in the KUP Law. Under the KUP Law, the provision is a maximum of three months after the end of the tax year.

“So what we are preparing is the provision of relaxation on the imposition of administrative sanctions for annual PPh SPT for individual taxpayers submitted after the 31 March deadline,” Inge revealed.
