Realising Adequate and Quality Housing, BRI Strengthens Tile-Roofing Programme Through Housing Credit Scheme
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the success of the “Tile-Roofing” programme through financing via the People’s Business Credit Scheme (KUR) Housing or Housing Credit Programme (KPP).
This support aligns with the directive of President Prabowo Subianto for people to be able to use cooler and more adequate roofing materials, such as tiles, compared to zinc or asbestos, as part of efforts to improve the quality and comfort of people’s housing.
The commitment was conveyed by BRI President Director Hery Gunardi, accompanied by BRI Director of Consumer Banking Aris Hartanto, whilst receiving a visit from Housing and Settlement Area Minister Maruarar Sirait, BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho, Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman, and West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman at BRILiaN Club, Jakarta, on Friday (27 February 2026).
On this occasion, Hery emphasised that BRI is taking a strategic role in facilitating financing between tile manufacturers and property developers.
Under the scheme, BRI becomes involved once a cooperation contract exists between tile manufacturers and developers, allowing financing to be facilitated promptly. BRI’s role is positioned in the middle—once a contract exists between tile manufacturers and developers or users, BRI is ready to facilitate the financing. Notably, BRI already has the Housing Credit scheme, and building materials of this type form part of the Housing Credit offering.
“As a bank whose DNA is oriented towards supporting small businesses and the people, consistent with our name as Bank Rakyat Indonesia, we are prepared to provide financing to support these needs,” Hery stated in a statement on Monday (2 March 2026).
Hery also emphasised that as part of BRI’s commitment to Housing Credit, this financing not only contributes to improving the quality of people’s housing but also drives multiplier effects. These range from production activities of SMEs in building materials, strengthening the supply chain of the housing industry, to creating employment opportunities across various regions.
This support is expected to enhance the competitiveness of local SMEs whilst strengthening the domestic industry, particularly the tile industry.
Housing and Settlement Area Minister Maruarar Sirait expressed appreciation for BRI’s consistency in supporting government programmes, including Housing Credit.
“I wish to express thanks and appreciation to BRI for its commitment to ensuring that Housing Credit is well-absorbed. To date, BRI is the largest distributor bank of Housing Credit. BRI’s role and support are certainly very strategic in strengthening the people’s housing programme. Thank you, Director,” said Maruarar.
Through support for the Tile-Roofing programme, BRI is working to strengthen the quality of people’s housing whilst promoting welfare from the most fundamental level and equitable development in accordance with the Asta Cita vision.
On the other hand, the involvement of SMEs in the supply chain of materials and labour makes this programme not only socially impactful but also creates economic multiplier effects.
