JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The President Director (Dirut) of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, asked the panel of judges at Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakarta Pusat) to hand down the lightest possible sentence to him in the case of the fire at his company’s offices that killed 22 employees.

He made the statement as he read his personal plea during the continued hearing into the Terra Drone office fire case at PN Jakarta Pusat, Kemayoran, on Tuesday (18 May 2026).

“I ask Your Honour to grant forgiveness and/or the lightest possible sentence for me,” Michael said in court.

He then outlined six factors that could be considered by the judges when deciding a light sentence.

Secondly, Terra Drone Indonesia had already pursued peace agreements with the families of all the victims.

“That I have never served a sentence before,” continued Michael.

“That I have parents and family members who depend on me and require my presence,” he explained.

Point five, Michael stated that he must continue to run the company because he has responsibility for 340 of its employees.

He said that the lives and economic welfare of hundreds of employees depend on the company.

In his plea, Michael Wisnu also stated that he had never neglected workplace safety and had striven to apply prudent principles in running the company.

“I have never had any intention to commit wrongdoing, let alone cause loss or endanger or injure employees whom I regard as family,” he said.

Previously, Michael Wisnu Wardhana was charged with two years imprisonment in the office fire case.

The charge was read at the continued hearing of the Terra Drone fire case at PN Jakarta Pusat, Monday (11 May 2026).
