Ratu Wulla Receives Award for Local-Inclusive Economic Development
Regent of Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Ratu Ngadu Bonnu Wulla has received the Outstanding Leader in Local Economic and Inclusive Development award at the Indonesia Leading Women Awards 2026. The award was presented by CNN Indonesia’s Editor-in-Chief, Titin Rosmasari, during the gala event at the Bank Mega Tower Auditorium on Tuesday (5/5) evening. Ratu Wulla is the Regent of Southwest Sumba for the 2025-2030 period. This Nasdem Party politician previously served as a Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from 2019-2024. As the current regent, Ratu Ngadu Bonnu Wulla has demonstrated strong commitment to driving inclusive development in Southwest Sumba through strengthening investments, economic digitalisation, and social protection for the community. Under her leadership, social assistance has reached thousands of residents, the people’s economic transformation is progressing, and the empowerment of SMEs, agriculture, and human resources is being continuously strengthened. In addition, Ratu Wulla is known for actively forming weaving groups for women in Southwest Sumba and successfully bringing NTT weaving products to the global stage. For her, building community self-reliance is crucial in fostering the spirit of Indonesian nationalism. The award is organised by CNN Indonesia as a form of appreciation for inspirational women in the country who have contributed in various fields. This year’s Leading Women Awards 2026 is themed ‘Empowered Women, Empowering the Nation’, spotlighting women as pillars of national civilisation.
