Rapid chess at Perbanas

JAKARTA (JP): Two hundred chess players are expected to take
part in a rapid chess tournament from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11 at the
Perbanas banking school in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, the
Indonesian Chess Association announced yesterday.

The association's secretary-general Maj. Gen. Cholid Gozali
said yesterday that two Indonesian grand masters, Edhi Handoko
and Ardiansyah, as well as last year's national champion Master
International Awan Wahono and Master FIDE Ruben Gunawan are among
those who have confirmed their participation.

The tournament is being organized by Kopacat, a cooperative
which groups Indonesian chess players. (arf)
