REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WEST BANDUNG – The Regent of West Bandung, Jeje Ritchie Ismail, began this year’s Ramadan visit at the Jami’ Nurul Iman Mosque, in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), on Wednesday evening (25/2/2026).

He was accompanied by the Vice Regent of West Bandung, Asep Ismail, and the Regional Secretary of KBB, Ade Zakir, as well as several heads of regional device organisations (OPDs) within the West Bandung Regency Government. Jeje said that the Ramadan visit to Pasirlangu Village has a profound meaning.

He explained that the atmosphere of worship is still tinged with sadness due to the landslide disaster that struck the area in Pasirlangu last month. As many as 80 residents of Pasirlangu Village were declared missing, and around 30 houses were buried by the landslide.

“We intentionally held the first visit in Pasirlangu because, as we all know, the area is still grieving after the landslide. So, I chose to come here to strengthen ties with the residents,” said Jeje.

Jeje hopes that the presence of the government among the community can provide moral support to the victims and their families. “Hopefully, our presence will give encouragement to the residents. I continue to monitor what the residents here need,” said Jeje.

Jeje said that most of the landslide survivors who escaped the disaster have moved to rented houses. However, he admitted that there are still some residents affected in the yellow and red zones who have not received compensation.

“Most of the residents have moved to rented houses. However, there are some who have problems in the yellow and red zones. So, we continue to assess (the data of the victims). The main thing is that we don’t want the community to experience difficulties. We will also handle the yellow zone and provide compensation,” he said.

Regarding the plan to relocate the houses, the West Bandung Regency Government is still waiting for the designation of the land, which will then be submitted to the Geological Agency to conduct an assessment to ensure feasibility and safety to avoid similar incidents.

“Regarding permanent housing, we are still in consultation because the location has not been decided,” said Jeje.
