Ramadan Syiar UI 2026 Brings Spiritual Values into Dialogue with Tradition
Dr. Ngatawi Al-Zastrouw, a cultural expert and Director of Culture at Universitas Indonesia (UI), emphasised that Ramadan is not only a religious ritual but also a cultural space that brings spiritual values into dialogue with the traditions of society.
In a press statement received on Saturday, Al-Zastrouw affirmed that Ramadan Syiar UI 2026 is one of the activities delivering positive impacts on students, the academic community, and the public, in line with UI’s tagline ‘Unggul Impactful untuk Indonesia.’
The Ramadan Syiar UI 2026 programme, staged from 1–6 March 2026, included Rendang for Sumatra, an Ethnophotography Exhibition, a Calligraphy Workshop, Cultural Dialogue, Cultural Ngabuburit, and closed with an Art Tadarus.
Art Tadarus also proceeded with great enthusiasm, drawing audiences both in person at the UI Directorate of Culture Auditorium and via live broadcasts on the Directorate’s YouTube channel.
The culmination of the Ramadan Syiar UI 2026 series arrived with a blend of art and spirituality, packaged in poetry, dance, and musical performances and featuring Indra Sabil AFI, Michail Abel Firdausi, Ki Ageng Ganjur, Topeng Ireng, Tari Waro’an Magelang, and Yogie Sani.
