The Riau Regional Police (Polda) held a Ramadan Safari event at the Kampar Police Precinct. During this month of worship, Riau Deputy Police Chief Brigjen Hengki Haryadi emphasised the importance of synergy between the police force and all elements of society in addressing global security challenges and digital crime.

The event was attended by senior officials from Polda Riau, the Kampar Police Chief, and representatives from the Kampar District Coordinating Forum (Forkopimda), including the district head, regional parliament chair, regional prosecutor, and military units from Kodim 0313/Kampar and Yonif 132/BS.

In his remarks, Brigjen Hengki conveyed that Ramadan is not merely a month of worship, but an opportunity to strengthen bonds of kinship and foster public awareness. He hoped the community would actively participate in maintaining security and order.

“Security is not solely the responsibility of police officers. The apparatus cannot work alone; we need the cooperation of all elements of the nation,” said Brigjen Hengki on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Hengki stressed that an integrated surveillance system involving local government, immigration authorities, and technological support such as CCTV are key to maintaining national security stability at present.

The Deputy Police Chief also warned of potential impacts of international conflict on the domestic economy. Global tensions risk triggering increases in oil and food prices, which often lead to heightened public activity and security disruptions heading into Eid al-Fitr.

Regarding local challenges, Riau as a border region with Malaysia is a vulnerable point for drug trafficking and transnational crime. Additionally, social phenomena such as motorcycle gangs involving minors are serious concerns.

“Crime patterns have now shifted from conventional to digital. High internet usage has triggered the emergence of cybercrime and social media abuse. It is our collective responsibility to protect the younger generation,” he added.

The Ramadan Safari event also symbolised solidarity between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), and Kampar District Government. The presence of personnel from Kodim 0313/Kampar and Yonif 132/BS at the event reinforced the commitment to integrated territorial security.

The event concluded with a communal breaking of the fast, congregational Maghrib prayer at Al-Ikhlas Mosque, and a shared dinner in a safe and conducive atmosphere.
