Ramadan Safari in Central Java: National Police Chief Strengthens Bonds with Religious Leaders and Community
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conducted a Ramadan safari together with religious scholars, officials, and community members in Central Java. This activity served as a moment to strengthen bonds between the National Police (Polri), religious leaders, and society during the holy month.
General Sigit and his delegation arrived at Central Java Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda Jateng) in Semarang on Monday, 16 March 2026 in the afternoon, accompanied by hadrah chanting. The National Police Chief’s arrival was warmly received at the location.
In attendance were Central Java Provincial Secretary Sumarno and the Regional Leaders’ Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Java, including Central Java Regional Police Chief Irjen Ribut Hari Wibowo, Commander of Diponegoro Military Command IV Mayjen Achiruddin Darojat, and Central Java Regional Legislative Assembly Chair Sumanto. Also present were religious leaders, community figures, university rectors, trade union and labour leaders, civil society organisations, students, and online motorcycle taxi communities.
Accompanying the National Police Chief during this Ramadan safari were several senior police officials, including Chief of Intelligence and Security Komjen Yuda Gustawan, Deputy Chief of Operations Komjen Mohamad Fadil Imran, Human Resources Deputy Irjen Anwar, Public Relations Deputy Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir, and Traffic Commander Irjen Agus Suryonugroho.
The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by Qur’anic recitation. After Central Java Regional Police Chief Irjen Ribut delivered remarks, the National Police Chief symbolically distributed charity to representatives of orphans. A total of 150 aid packages were prepared as a gesture of care and celebration during Ramadan.
“Today we have been accompanied by senior officials from National Police Headquarters in conducting this communal breaking of the fast in Central Java, and alhamdulillah we have been able to meet with all of you, which is certainly part of our efforts to maintain the bonds of brotherhood that have been built,” said the National Police Chief.
“Our hope during Ramadan, in this month full of blessings, is certainly that synergy, brotherhood, and warmth during this holy month further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among all of us,” he added.
Following the National Police Chief’s remarks, the event continued with a religious sermon delivered by KH Achmad Chalwani. As the time for breaking the fast approached, KH Abdul Ghafar Rozin led the breaking-of-the-fast prayer, followed by a communal meal.
An atmosphere of reverence and fellowship pervaded the gathering between police officials, religious scholars, officials, and all elements of Central Java society.
