Boyolali – The Solidarity Indonesia Party (PSI) conducted a Ramadan safari that extended beyond conventional religious courtesy visits. In Boyolali, Central Java, Nasrullah, head of PSI’s national legal and human rights division, delivered motivational addresses to hundreds of santri at two Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding schools, equipping them with new perspectives for global competitiveness.

Known colloquially as Bro Nas, Nasrullah went beyond bringing gifts, instead injecting motivation for santri to develop competitive advantages in an era of disruption. In his speech, he highlighted the critical importance of mastering foreign languages as a “key” to opening global opportunities. He argued that Islamic students should not limit themselves to conventional language skills.

“If you want success to come more easily in the future, master languages beyond just Arabic and English—you should add Mandarin Chinese,” said Nasrullah on Sunday, 1 March 2026. He contended that mastery of foreign languages aligns with expanding social networks and opportunities.

“By mastering foreign languages, your potential network of relationships will grow significantly. A broad circle of friendships with networks everywhere will translate into expanded economic opportunities,” he explained.

Beyond language skills, Nasrullah also emphasised the importance of technological proficiency. He noted that global change occurs at a rapid pace and only those who adapt effectively can survive.

“Besides languages, what is most important to remain adaptable to this rapidly changing world is mastering technology,” he stated.

Nasrullah shared personal experience, noting that his career progression to hold an important national position was not achieved overnight. That long process, he explained, began with organisational involvement at grassroots level in his hometown whilst still in secondary school.

The visit included distribution of hundreds of Ramadan gifts to the santri. This initiative was described as implementing instructions from PSI chairman Kaesang Pangarep for party cadres to engage directly with Islamic boarding schools to support early human resource development.

Ahmad Ali, PSI’s daily chairman, also stressed the importance of the party’s proximity to Islamic boarding school communities.

“We do this as a sign of respect for the teachers, clerics, and scholars who have long served as guardians of the nation’s moral values,” said Ahmad Ali.
