General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of Police, carried out the Ramadan 1447 H safari in the South Sumatra region. He used the occasion to distribute charitable aid to orphans and strengthen synergy with ulama and umara.

The Ramadan Safari event this time was centred at the forecourt of the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters in Palembang, on Saturday (7/3/2026).

Upon arrival, General Sigit and his entourage were warmly welcomed with the accompaniment of hadroh music and were presented with turbans by the Chairman of the MUI for South Sumatra Province.

The event was attended by around 600 participants, comprising the Sumsel Forkopimda ranks, religious figures, leaders of pesantren, and labour unions.

During the occasion, the Police Chief symbolically gave aid to representatives of orphans from the Rizky Raisyah Orphanage. A total of 100 aid packages had been prepared for distribution to the orphans, including backpacks, books and writing materials, and monetary donations.

In his remarks, General Sigit highlighted the increasingly tense situation in the Middle East and its impact on rising global oil prices. He urged all segments of society in the Sriwijaya region to not be easily swayed by issues that could divide unity.

‘The TNI, Polri, umara, ulama must all be united. All the people must unite so that in the face of any situation we stand in one line,’ said General Sigit.

He also reminded that Indonesia’s main strength is togetherness, reflecting the nation’s success in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘Indonesia can face all challenges if we stand united. The whole world panics, we have faced economic contractions, but because of the solidarity between authorities, ulama, and the people, we can recover,’ he asserted.

The agenda was attended by senior officials from the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, including Kabaintelkam General Yuda Gustawan, Dankorbrimob General Ramdani Hidayat, and Kadiv Humas Polri Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir. Also in attendance were South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru, South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, and II/Sriwijaya Army Commander Major General Ujang Darwis.

The event concluded with a sermon and joint prayers led by Ustaz Kemas Muhammad Ali, head of Ponpes Al Asmaaul Husna, followed by breaking of the fast at exactly 18:20 WIB.
