Ramadan Safari: Batam City Government provides cash grants to 30 mosques for facilities
Batam City Government, in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri), is channeling cash grant aid to 30 mosques and mushallas across all districts as part of the Ramadan Safari 1447 Hijriah/2026.
Head of the Welfare and Spiritual Affairs Section of the Batam City Secretariat, Syukri Ilyas, said the assistance had indeed been budgeted as part of the Batam City Ramadan Safari activities.
There are 30 mosques and mushallas to be visited by the Batam Mayor and the Deputy Mayor during this year’s Ramadan Safari, spread across 12 districts of Batam City. At each visit, the Mayor will hand over the grant to the mosque/mushalla visited. The cash grants were handed over directly at the respective locations.
Regarding the amount, Syukri emphasised that the sums are not identical for each mosque or mushalla. “The amounts vary. Usually the Mayor adjusts according to needs and the budgetary capacity,” he said.
Next, Al Hidayah Mosque, Sekupang Rp50 million; Al Mubarokah Mosque, Sekupang Rp50 million; Baitul Istiqomah Mosque, Tanjung Uncang Rp40 million; and Al Haq Mosque, Tanjung Uncang Rp75 million.
The grant programme is part of the Batam City Government’s commitment to supporting worship facilities across all mosques and mushallas in the city.
