How is your fasting today? Do not miss the iftar timetable for the Lombok area, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and surrounding areas today.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. Throughout the day they refrain from eating, drinking, and various things that could invalidate the fast.

Knowing the schedule of fasting can serve as a reference for the faithful to determine sahur, breaking the fast, and the performance of the five daily prayers. In this way, the series of worship during Ramadan can be carried out more orderly, directed, and optimally.

Dua for breaking the fast

The time to break the fast is not only about quenching thirst and hunger. Muslims are also advised to recite more duas when breaking the fast.

Here are two supplications for breaking the fast based on the explanation of Ustaz Adi Hidayat in the video ‘Tentang Doa Berbuka Puasa (Part 2)’ uploaded to his YouTube channel.

Version One

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَـأُ، وابْــتَلَّتِ العُرُوقُ، وثَــبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِن شَاءَ اللهُ

Dzahabaz zhama’u wabtallatil ’uruqu wa tsabatal ajru, insyaallah

Meaning: “The thirst has gone, the throat is moist and the reward is established, insha’Allah.” (HR Abu Daud)

Version Two

Allaahumma lakasumtu wabika aamantu wa’alaa rizqika afthortu birahmatika yaa arhamar-roohimiina.

Meaning: “O Allah, for You I have fasted, in You I have believed, and with Your sustenance I break my fast (with Your mercy), O He who is the Most Merciful of the merciful.” (HR Bukhari and Muslim)

Based on Ustaz Adi Hidayat’s explanation, the method of practising the breaking-fast dua above can be combined. Therefore, the Dzahabazh zhoma’u dua is read first as an opener, then followed by the Allahumma laka shumtu dua.

So, when is the right time to recite the breaking-fast dua? Almanhaj’s page states that the Prophet usually recited the Dzahabazh zhoma’u after breaking the fast. This also aligns with the meaning of the dua, i.e., “The thirst has gone and the veins have moistened…”.

Thus, this is the breaking-fast timetable for Lombok Island and its surrounding areas. May it be beneficial!
