Ramadan Boost: 'Nastar Village' Overwhelmed with Eid Cake Orders
The atmosphere is bustling with workers in the ‘Nastar Village’ located on Gang Subur, Larangan Utara, Larangan District, Tangerang City, Banten, on Thursday (26/2/2026). The ‘Nastar Village’ is flooded with orders during Ramadan. Production activities have also increased sharply, requiring them to operate 24 hours a day. “Currently, demand is high, so we have to work non-stop 24 hours a day using a shift system to complete all of this,” said one of the workers while talking to CNBC Indonesia. With the use of modern electric ovens, the quality of the colour and ripeness of the cakes remains consistent. This applies even though production has increased significantly, reaching 60 kilograms of margarine per day. The majority of the workers are neighbours. It is not surprising that this has a positive impact on housewives, who now have additional income for Eid needs. According to Hesti, her family’s business has been running since 1988 and became the forerunner of the ‘Nastar Village’ ecosystem. “My mother used to manage it, then I continued. Many of our employees then started their own businesses in this area, so the heads of the neighbourhood unit and community unit came up with the name ‘Nastar Village’,” said Hesti. Currently, the activity can be seen among residents in RT 02 and RT 05, RW 01. The existence of the ‘Nastar Village’ is not only about cake production, but also about how residents can embrace each other to work and increase family income without having to go far from their own area. There are approximately 26 home industries active in the area, consisting of seven units in RT 02 and 19 units in RT 05 RW 01.
