Ramadan Blessings: Pertamina-Backed SMEs See Turnover Doubling at SMEXPO Ramadan 2026
Ramadan brings blessings for Pertamina’s network of SMEs as a result of SMEXPO Ramadan 2026, hosted at Grha Pertamina Jakarta from 2 to 6 March 2026. About 20 Pertamina-supported SMEs showcased flagship products ranging from fashion and crafts to food and beverages aligned with Ramadan needs.
Rudi Ariffianto, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility & SMEPP Management at Pertamina, said SMEXPO is one of Pertamina’s efforts to open wider market access for its SME partners.
“Through SMEXPO Ramadan, Pertamina wishes to provide space for SMEs to introduce their products to the public while also boosting sales, particularly during Ramadan, when demand typically rises,” Rudi said in a statement on Friday (6 March 2026).
According to Rudi, SMEXPO’s presence not only assists with product promotion but also drives income growth, ultimately strengthening community economies. “When SMEs experience increased sales, the benefits are felt by their workers and families. This shows that empowering SMEs can create a multiplier effect for the economy,” added Rudi.
Pertamina conducts integrated SME development through the Pertamina UMK Academy, which offers training in business management, financial management, pricing, and digital marketing strategies.
In addition, Pertamina facilitates SMEs in obtaining various certifications, such as halal, BPOM, and international standards like HACCP and GACC, to enhance the competitiveness of products in national and global markets.
Muhammad Baron, Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, noted that SME empowerment is part of Pertamina’s commitment to delivering energy of kindness to society.
“SMEXPO creates a collaborative space that brings SMEs together with customers so they can grow, mature, and become more competitive,” Baron said. He added that Pertamina continues to encourage its SMEs to broaden their market reach, including through digital platforms and export opportunities.
Through ongoing coaching programmes, Pertamina hopes that the supported SMEs will grow stronger and make a tangible contribution to Indonesia’s economy.
One beneficiary SME is Meat Story, a producer of frozen meat products such as frozen meatballs and handmade sausages. Owner Hilda said sales grew significantly during Ramadan.
“During Ramadan there is typically a sales increase of around 50 percent, and it can approach a twofold rise compared with normal days. The bazaar like SMEXPO greatly helps boost our sales,” Hilda said.
Meat Story, based in Keranggan, Cibubur, joined Pertamina as a Partner-Binaan in 2024 and has received support ranging from business mentoring to production equipment grants. “Since becoming a Pertamina Partner, we have received substantial assistance, from business management and expanding networks to equipment such as a vacuum chamber for packaging,” Hilda explained.
Besides Meat Story, the mukena manufacturer Shokha has also benefited from Pertamina’s guidance. With a production capacity of up to 1,000 mukenas per month and marketing across cities including Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar, Shokha reported a roughly 20 percent increase in sales after becoming a Pertamina beneficiary.
“In addition to sales growth, we have received various offline and online trainings that help improve our ability to manage the business,” said Shofiya.
Pertamina, a leader in the energy transition sector, is committed to the Net Zero Emission by 2060 target and continues promoting programmes that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
All these efforts align with Pertamina’s transformation toward governance, public service, sustainability of business and environment, applying Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles across its business lines and operations, in coordination with Danantara Indonesia.
