The Head of the Indonesian Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, has invited the business community to use Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr as an opportunity to enhance product quality and consumer confidence. This is because consumption rates typically increase significantly during these occasions compared to ordinary days.

He also noted that during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr, public demand for various products including food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, and fashion items experiences significant growth.

“Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are always moments when consumption increases, both for daily necessities and special needs. For this reason, halal products are increasingly sought after as public awareness of product halal certification grows,” Ahmad Haikal Hasan stated in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

According to him, this condition should be leveraged by business operators to introduce high-quality halal products that are competitive in the market. He emphasised the importance of ensuring that produced goods possess halal certification as a form of consumer protection whilst simultaneously building public confidence.

“This momentum represents a major opportunity for entrepreneurs to present quality halal products. Therefore, ensure that products have halal certification so they can become the primary choice for consumers,” he added.

He explained that halal labelling not only provides consumers with a sense of security and comfort, but also strengthens consumer confidence and loyalty towards a product.

“Halal labelling gives the public a sense of security, comfort, and peace of mind. On the other hand, it also enhances consumer confidence and loyalty to the product,” he explained.

Furthermore, he called on all business operators to jointly strengthen the halal value chain from upstream to downstream in order to drive national economic growth.

“Therefore, let us together strengthen the halal value chain from upstream to downstream so that it can provide meaningful contribution to national economic growth,” he concluded.
