Qurbans distributed to disaster-affected areas in Aceh
Communities in disaster-affected areas continue to face limited access to aid, including the distribution of qurbans during Eid al-Adha. This has prompted the delivery of qurbans to regions that typically receive little such assistance.
Cryptocurrency exchange Indodax distributed 15 sacrificial animals—five cattle and 10 goats—to Aceh Tamiang and Aceh Timur regencies through its ‘Indodax For Indonesia: Qurbans for Remote Areas’ initiative. The programme, run in collaboration with AyoBantu and Sekolah Relawan, benefits 584 households in areas previously impacted by disasters and with restricted aid access.
Distribution locations include Alur Tani 1 and Rongoh in Tamiang Hulu Subdistrict, Blang Kandis in Bandar Pusaka Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency, and Alue Rincong in Pante Bidari Subdistrict and Batu Sumbang in Simpang Jernih Subdistrict, Aceh Timur Regency.
Indodax Chief Marketing Officer Aloysia Dian said delivering qurbans to disaster-affected regions is part of efforts to extend the reach of aid to those in need.
‘We hope this programme brings joy to beneficiaries. May this small step continue and benefit more communities in the future,’ Dian said in a statement on Friday, 29 May 2026.
She added that Eid al-Adha is also an opportunity to strengthen social care and mutual assistance, particularly for communities still facing post-disaster challenges.
‘For us, Eid al-Adha is not just about sharing sacrificial animals, but fostering togetherness and compassion. We hope this initiative helps those in need while reinforcing community solidarity,’ she said.
The distribution of qurbans to disaster-affected areas aims to address food needs and ensure fairer distribution of sacrificial meat in regions with limited aid access.
