A queue at Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana Regency, Bali, stretched for 31 kilometres on Sunday 15 March 2026. As a result, 16 holidaymakers were reported to have fainted due to hot weather and exhaustion from waiting. Amid the congestion, medical teams from the Jembrana Police Department’s medical unit had to treat several holidaymakers experiencing health issues. In total, 17 holidaymakers received medical treatment at various healthcare service points, including Gilimanuk Cargo Terminal, Quarantine Junction, and along the motorcycle queue in front of the Gilimanuk shopping area. Meanwhile, another holidaymaker sustained a laceration injury from an accident and required medical treatment including wound stitching, wound care, and medication.

The head of the public relations section at Jembrana Police Department, Ipda I Putu Budi Arnaya, stated that health personnel had been placed on standby throughout the Lebaran holiday exodus to assist holidaymakers experiencing health problems. “Jembrana Police Department, through its medical unit, remains on standby providing health services to holidaymakers passing through the Gilimanuk area,” Budi said in a statement on Monday 16 March 2026.

The long vehicle queue heading to Gilimanuk Port had reportedly reached Negara District. The vehicles stuck in traffic were predominantly logistics vehicles, private vehicles, and motorcycles intending to cross from Bali to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java. Parking spaces within Gilimanuk Port were reported full since Sunday afternoon, forcing vehicles to queue far outside the port area.

Personnel from Bali Police Region and Jembrana Police Department, involved in Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, directly implemented traffic management and engineering along the entire queue route to the port. The authorities also continued optimising traffic management on the ground, including implementing a delay system for vehicles with three or more axles or trucks through a buffer zone in the areas of Denpasar, Badung, and Tabanan.
