Qonnect+ Event to Strengthen Insurance Ecosystem Readiness in 2026
In 2026, industry players are optimistic about growth in the insurance sector, with expectations of a 5%-7% expansion as financial sector performance improves. Regulators are expected to push several reforms in 2026 to ensure continued delivery of services and protection for insurance products to consumers.
To address the challenges and opportunities of 2026, Qoala Plus has organised Qonnect+ 2026, under the theme ‘Be a Super Agent’, as an educational forum for distributing insurance products through partnerships. The event is held in five cities: Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan and Jakarta.
Through Qonnect+ 2026, Qoala Plus provides participants with an overview of the growth trajectory of the general insurance industry, including drivers of premium growth and the dynamics of general insurance companies in 2025. Partners are also briefed on potential regulatory updates to 2026 that could affect the behaviour of insurance players, such as increases in the minimum paid-up capital for insurance companies, agency licensing, and developments in the regulation of motor vehicle compulsory insurance.
The education is part of Qoala Plus, a business unit of PT Mitra Jasa Pratama, an insurance broker registered with the OJK, aimed at improving literacy of products and compliance with insurance regulations in Indonesia.
Tirto Utomo, Head of Business at Qoala Plus, said: “We recognise that the past year has been challenging for the insurance industry, with regulatory changes, market dynamics, and rising customer expectations for products and service. Through Qonnect+, we are committed to equipping partners to better navigate the 2026 economy and to adapt to regulatory compliance in the insurance industry, while also highlighting features in the Qoala Plus app that have been developed in 2025 and will be expanded in 2026.”
“We hope Qoala Plus partners can maximise the economic opportunities of distributing insurance products, supported by services and technology from Qoala Plus,” he added.
To enhance service to partners, Qoala Plus has introduced several features in motor vehicle insurance covering everything from policy binding to claims processing. Additionally, for employee health insurance, the adoption of artificial intelligence will be a key driver of feature development in 2026 to help Qoala Plus partners work faster, more effectively and more efficiently, increasing productivity.
In 2025, Qoala Plus focused on serving insurance needs for both individuals and corporates, distributing thousands of policies including motor vehicle, property, cargo insurance, group health for employees, heavy machinery insurance and more.
Qoala Plus, whose brokerage function is operated by PT Mitra Jasa Pratama, has secured several awards, including being named one of Indonesia’s largest insurance brokers in 2024 and 2025, and inclusion in the World’s Top 30 Insurtech Companies according to CNBC and Statista.
One Qoala Plus partner, Panji Hagarayu Sapta, said: “This year’s Qonnect+ helps me see the bigger picture and opportunities in the insurance industry, while clarifying practical steps that can be implemented in the field. I feel more prepared to face 2026 and to deliver faster, more solution-driven service to customers.” (E-1)
