JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani announced that investment realisation in the second quarter of 2025 reached Rp477.7 trillion. This figure represents an 11.9% year-on-year increase compared with Q2 2024's realisation of Rp428.4 trillion.

Rosan stated that the Q2 2025 investment realisation was in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming. The total investment target for this year stands at Rp1,905.6 trillion, meaning Q2 2025's realisation has already surpassed a quarter of the annual target at 25.1%.

"The investment realisation for the second quarter of 2025 stands at Rp477.7 trillion, an increase of 11.5% compared with the previous year," Rosan said during a press conference at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM office in Jakarta on Tuesday (29 July).

Rosan also highlighted another key achievement from Q2 2025 investment realisation: job creation over the past three months. "Employment absorption resulting from investment inflows during the second quarter was 665,764 people," he noted.

According to his presentation, the Rp477.7 trillion in investment realisation comprised Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) of Rp202.2 trillion or 42.3% of total investment, and Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) of Rp275.5 trillion (57.7%).

Domestically, the largest investment was recorded outside Java at Rp240.2 trillion or 50.3% of total Q2 2025 investment realisation, whilst Java accounted for Rp237.5 trillion or 49.7%.

Rosan added that the current high absorption of investment outside Java demonstrates improved distribution. This represents a significant improvement compared with previous periods, when investment was heavily concentrated in Java.

"We can now see that the comparison is nearly equal. We hope that investment will be more evenly distributed across all regions so that growth, economic sectors, and new economic growth including job creation will also spread more widely," he explained.

Furthermore, Rosan outlined the five provinces attracting the most investment: West Java at Rp72.5 trillion (15.2%); followed by DKI Jakarta at Rp71.1 trillion (14.9%); East Java at Rp38.6 trillion (8.1%); Central Sulawesi at Rp31.6 trillion (6.6%); and Banten at Rp29.7 trillion (6.2%).
