The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace is having a tangible impact on productivity, job security, and worker income. However, the adoption rate and access to the benefits of AI are not yet evenly distributed. This was revealed in the Global Workforce Hopes & Fears Survey 2025, released by PwC Indonesia. The survey results show that workers who use generative AI every day report significantly greater benefits than those who rarely or never use the technology. Globally, 92 per cent of daily AI users say their productivity has increased. As many as 58 per cent feel that their job security has improved, and 52 per cent report an increase in salary. A total of 36 per cent feel more secure professionally, and 32 per cent see a salary increase. Pete Brown, Global Workforce Leader at PwC, stated that employees who use AI every day are reaping the benefits, namely higher productivity, better job security, and higher salaries. “But to increase these benefits, businesses must go beyond training. The jobs themselves need to be redesigned and human-machine partnerships need to be redefined,” said Brown, quoted from an official statement from PwC Indonesia, Friday (27/2/2026). In Indonesia, a similar trend is observed with even greater intensity compared to the global average. As many as 96 per cent of Indonesian workers who use AI every day report increased productivity. Furthermore, 82 per cent feel that their job security has improved, and 72 per cent say they have received an increase in compensation, or salary.
