Putrid garbage
Putrid garbage
From Neraca
Pungent smell continues to emanate from the back part of PD
Pasar Jaya, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. This condition has been
going on for years. Every time you pass the area a strong and
penetrating smell greets you. The market management, as well as
the police, seem indifferent to the situation. All kinds of waste
originating from the market piles up, whereas the garbage service
is incapable of disposing of the stuff.
I think many agree with me that this condition does not
reflect the ideal of preserving the environment and upholding
national discipline.
Therefore, I hope the governor of Jakarta immediately
instructs the mayor of South Jakarta, district and village chiefs
and the management of Pasar Minggu market to get rid of the
putrid waste.
I suggest that each vendor collects and puts their waste into
a big plastic bag to make it easier for the garbage collectors to
pick it up. The vendors in the market can be divided into groups
according to the block, and the group chiefs should be held
responsible for the smooth operation of the refuse in their
respective section. Sanctions must be taken against the chief who
fails in this project.
