Pushing for 8 Per Cent Growth, HKI Urges Accelerated Licensing and Industrial Regulation
The Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI) is urging the government to simplify licensing and regulation in order to achieve 8 per cent economic growth.
HKI Chairman Ma'ruf expressed hope that the Investment Acceleration Task Force, involving relevant ministries and agencies, would be formally established through an official decree so that the acceleration process can be carried out effectively.
"We are pushing for licensing acceleration to be implemented swiftly. Each related ministry or agency is not always 'in sync'. Sometimes regional authorities are also not aligned. Therefore, we hope the Investment Task Force can be formalised through a decree quickly so it can be implemented promptly," Ma'ruf stated.
Ma'ruf further announced that his organisation would form a joint team with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM to oversee the investment acceleration process. He affirmed that HKI would serve as a strategic bridge between industrial players, the public, and the government.
"We will create a joint team together with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM to oversee this. And of course, once again, we will involve ourselves in this investment acceleration," Ma'ruf concluded.
The statements were made during a National Dialogue entitled "Optimising the Role of Industrial Estates in Strengthening the Competitiveness of Manufacturing Industry Investment for Job Creation", which was attended by speakers from various ministries including the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, and the Ministry of Manpower.
