Purbaya Orders 27 Banks to Report Credit Card Transactions to the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP)
Jakarta — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has broadened the scope of government agencies, institutions, associations, and other parties, collectively referred to as ILAP, to report data and information to the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), including banks.
This obligation is set out in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 8 of 2026, which revises PMK 228/2017. PMK 8/2026 has been effective since 27 February 2026.
‘To provide legal certainty, utility, and clarity in the implementation of data and information submission by government agencies, institutions, associations, and other parties, and the gathering of data for the purposes of revenue collection,’ cited from the preamble of PMK 8/2026, Monday 2 March 2026.
Specifically for banks, the data and information that must be reported to the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) relating to the operation of credit cards, as previously set out in PMK 228/2017. However, in the new PMK 8/2026, the entities required to report have been expanded.
Under the previous PMK, the banks or credit card issuing institutions numbered 23 entities, while the new PMK increases to 27 entities. Here is the list:

In the latest PMK, the 27 banks or credit card issuing institutions must begin submitting data and information to the DJP no later than March 2027, on an annual basis. The data should be provided electronically and online, containing merchant receipts from card payment transactions.
Merchant receipt data from card transactions from Banks/Institutions acting as Issuer, at minimum, shall include:
Name of the Bank/Institution acting as Issuer
Merchant Name
Transaction settlement year
Total settled transactions
Total cancelled transactions
Meanwhile, merchant receipt data from card transactions from Banks/Institutions acting as Acquirer, at minimum, shall include:
