The Purbaya faction of the Surakarta Palace has responded to KPGPHPA Tedjowulan’s request for the Indonesian State Audit Board (BPK) to audit the palace’s grant funds from 2018-2025.

The spokesperson for the Purbaya faction, KPA Singonagoro, explained that most of the grant funds from the government for the Surakarta Palace were used to pay the salaries of the king and palace officials.

At that time, KGPHPA Tedjowulan served as Paran Parakarsa or advisory council.

“So, if Gusti Tedjo (Tedjowulan) is asking for an audit of the years 2018-2025, Gusti Tedjo was also one of the recipients of those grant funds,” said Singonagoro when met at the Surakarta Palace on Wednesday (February 25).

According to information gathered by CNNIndonesia.com, Tedjowulan received a salary of IDR 6 million per year. This salary was handed over each year at Sasana Narendra, which is the residence of the King of the Surakarta Palace.

“He only came here once a year to receive the funds,” said Singonagoro.

He admitted that since 2017-2025, the government has channeled grant funds through the personal account of the late SISKS Pakubuwono XIII Hangabehi.

However, the creation of this account was approved and witnessed by several officials from the Provincial Government and the Chief of the Central Java Police, who at that time was Achmad Luthfi.

Furthermore, Singonagoro stated that they are ready to open the financial data of the Surakarta Palace for the period 2018-2025 if audited by the BPK.

However, he requested that the BPK also audit the palace’s financial reports for previous periods.

“If you want an audit, then audit everything, including the previous years,” he added.

From 2007 to 2009, grant funds from the government for the Surakarta Palace were channeled through the Lembaga Dewan Adat (LDA) led by GKR Koes Murtiyah Wandansari, also known as Gusti Moeng.

However, in 2010-2014, the government temporarily stopped grant funds for the Surakarta Palace due to the increasingly sharp dual leadership.

The LDA then received grant funds for the years 2015-2016 before being forced out of the palace in 2017.

Since then, grant funds from the government have been channeled directly into the personal account of SISKS Pakubuwono XIII Hangabehi during the period 2018-2025.

Singonagoro suspects that Tedjowulan’s request for a BPK audit is biased.

This is because Tedjowulan only requested an audit for the period 2018-2025. In fact, the government has channeled grant funds for the Surakarta Palace in previous years.

“We suspect that there are interests being inserted into the audit request, because what is being requested is only for the years 2018-2025,” he said.

“If you want to be fair, then let’s audit everything. Don’t just accuse us of receiving tens of billions. In fact, that’s not the case,” he added.
