Purbaya ensures ongoing realisation of TKD for Sumatra disaster areas
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has assured that the progress in realising and allocating additional regional transfers (TKD) for areas in Sumatra affected by disasters is continuing and being monitored in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives. “Phase I amounting to 40 percent was disbursed in February (valued at) Rp4.39 trillion without disbursement conditions. Phase II amounting to 30 percent was disbursed in March at Rp3.10 trillion without disbursement conditions. And Phase III (30 percent) will be disbursed in April 2026 also without disbursement conditions,” said Finance Minister Purbaya during the APBN KiTa press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday. He explained that the relaxation of TKD disbursements and additional allocations have driven TKD realisation in the disaster-affected regions of Sumatra to Rp33.93 trillion. Furthermore, Purbaya stated that the additional TKD allocation for 2026 for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra amounts to Rp10.65 trillion. In general, TKD disbursements as of 31 March 2026 reached Rp204.8 trillion or 29.5 percent of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). This increase, according to the Finance Minister, aligns with the acceleration of state expenditure in percentage terms. “There is an instruction from the President to assess the conditions in the regions. So, we must not be caught off guard,” said Finance Minister Purbaya. In addition, the State Treasurer will continue to conduct monthly oversight regarding regional needs, including those in the disaster-affected areas of Sumatra. “We monitor on a monthly basis; if there is any shortfall, we will intervene immediately in accordance with the President’s guidance,” said Purbaya. “We monitor everything, not just the economy, but also the regions. We are very careful in monitoring our economic conditions, including local governments across Indonesia,” he added.
