Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has assured that the plan to import 105,000 pick-up trucks by PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara to support the operations of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (Kopdes Merah Putih) will not burden the country’s fiscal position.

According to the minister, Kopdes Merah Putih will obtain financing through loans from Himpunan Bank Milik Negara (Himbara), the consortium of state-owned banks. The Ministry of Finance will subsequently repay the loan obligations in instalments of approximately Rp 40 trillion per year over the next six years.

“For me, the risk is clear — there is no additional fiscal risk. Because every year, part of the funds are transferred from the village fund allocation,” Purbaya said at the APBN KITA press conference for February 2026 at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Monday, 23 February 2026.

“So every year we do spend that amount. It is just that the method of spending has now changed. That is how the financing works,” he added.

He explained that the instalment payments will be made by redirecting a portion of the village fund allocation, which is already budgeted annually as part of state expenditure. Therefore, according to the minister, only the disbursement mechanism is changing, rather than any new burden being added.

Previously, Agrinas had announced plans to import approximately 105,000 commercial vehicles from India with a total value of Rp 24.66 trillion. The fleet will be used to strengthen the logistics system of Kopdes Merah Putih across various regions.

The procurement of commercial vehicles is intended to support the logistics transport operations of Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih. News of the import plan by Agrinas was announced by Indian automotive company Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) on their company website on 4 February 2026.

On 20 February 2026, Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s President Director, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, confirmed to domestic media the import of 105,000 vehicles from the Indian companies.

The 105,000 pick-up trucks to be imported comprise 35,000 units of 4x4 pick-up trucks from M&M, followed by 35,000 units of 4x4 pick-ups and 35,000 units of six-wheeled trucks from Tata Motors.
