Purbaya Approves Rp 10.56 Trillion in Additional Regional Transfers for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra
Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa attended a Coordination Meeting of the Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force for Sumatra, together with the leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) and a number of relevant ministers.
During the meeting, Purbaya approved an additional budget for Regional Transfer Funds (TKD) for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra totalling Rp 10.56 trillion, as proposed by Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian.
“The additional TKD allocation has been approved at Rp 10.56 trillion. So it is not the Rp 7-8 trillion figure. We have taken the maximum amount in line with the Home Affairs Minister’s proposal,” Purbaya said at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
He explained that disbursement would be carried out in phases over three months from February, March, and April, with transfers subject to minimal requirements and up to Rp 4.2 trillion to be transferred no later than 28 February 2026.
The priority uses of the funds are allocated for meeting essential local government expenditure, disaster relief, and other urgent needs.
Purbaya detailed that a total of 67 regions across the three provinces would receive the additional TKD budget. This includes 47 disaster-affected regions that experienced a decline in TKD, as well as 20 disaster-affected regions that did not experience a decline in TKD.
“The additional allocation comprises settlement of outstanding Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) payments, supplementary DBH, supplementary General Allocation Fund (DAU), and Special Autonomy funds for Aceh,” he said.
In addition, Purbaya reported that as of 17 February 2026, his ministry had disbursed TKD totalling Rp 13 trillion to the three regions. This amount is 30 per cent higher than disbursements during the same period in the previous year, which stood at only Rp 10.78 trillion.
“We are ensuring that money is not an obstacle for them in rebuilding or handling the disaster, because their financial position as of January 2026 is sufficient,” Purbaya said.
“Aceh has Rp 3.5 trillion, North Sumatra has Rp 4.5 trillion, and West Sumatra has Rp 1.8 trillion. So they have Rp 9.9 trillion in cash,” he added.
