Pupuk Indonesia Announces 36 Winners of PIMA 2025 Journalism Award
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has announced 36 journalists as winners of the Pupuk Indonesia Media Award (PIMA) 2025 journalism competition in Jakarta on Friday, following an adjudication process by a panel of judges reviewing 558 works from 335 journalists across Indonesia, published between 1 October and 31 December 2025.
“Congratulations to all the winners. We have observed an improvement in the quality of journalistic works at PIMA 2025. This means that we believe our journalist colleagues’ understanding of the dynamics surrounding improvements to subsidised fertiliser governance has become very strong,” said Pupuk Indonesia Corporate Secretary Yehezkiel Adiperwira in a statement on Friday.
He explained that PIMA is an annual journalism competition aimed at serving as a platform for the socialisation and education of policies and improvements to subsidised fertiliser governance in Indonesia, whilst simultaneously strengthening public understanding of the company’s role in supporting national food self-sufficiency.
In 2025, the number of participants increased compared to the previous year, which recorded 467 works from 259 journalists. The hundreds of entries were divided into six categories: Hard News, Feature, Single Photo, Photo Story, Video/TV, and Radio.
The theme of PIMA 2025 was “Building a Strong Fertiliser Industry for Food Sovereignty” with two sub-themes: Pupuk Indonesia’s transformation towards achieving a modern, efficient and accountable fertiliser industry; and strengthening services and oversight to increase agricultural productivity.
Six winners were selected from each category — First, Second and Third Place, plus three Consolation Prize winners — bringing the total to 36 winners. First Place winners received a prize of Rp20 million, Second Place Rp10 million, Third Place Rp7.5 million, and each Consolation Prize winner received an appreciation fund of Rp5 million.
