PUPR Department Hopes KIPP Development in Papua Pegunungan to Proceed in 2026
Wamena (ANTARA) - The Public Works and Public Housing Department (PUPR) of Papua Pegunungan hopes that the development of the main government centre or KIPP Papua Pegunungan can proceed in 2026. “We hope that the construction of KIPP can be carried out as soon as possible so that the main offices to be built, namely the governor’s office, MRP, and DPR of Papua Pegunungan, can be completed and used,” said the Head of the PUPR Department of Papua Pegunungan, Tunggul W Panggabean, in Wamena on Tuesday. He explained that the area of the KIPP Papua Pegunungan location at the Kebun Biologi of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Gunung Susu, Hubukosi District, Jayawijaya Regency, is approximately 122.5 hectares. He stated that if all processes go well, the KIPP construction can proceed this year. According to him, the current development stage has entered the detailed technical planning (detail engineering design/DED). He explained that the KIPP Papua Pegunungan construction process still has several stages before implementation. “We explain that once the DED prepared by the Ministry of Public Works is completed, it will be tendered again before being contracted to a third party that will carry it out,” he said. He added that the documents and requirements requested by the Ministry of Public Works for the KIPP Papua Pegunungan development are already complete or there are no issues. “From our side, everything is already ‘clear’ or completed, and the next stages will be carried out by the central government because the KIPP Papua Pegunungan development uses the state revenue and expenditure budget allocation or APBN,” he stated.
