Pulp mill takes downtime

NEW YORK (Reuter): Asia Pacific Resources International Holdings Ltd said on Wednesday its PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper Mill in Indonesia took 27 days of downtime in the fourth quarter of 1996, but is now operating again.

The company's PT Inti Indorayon Utama mill, also in Indonesia, took eight days of downtime. For the two mills combined, the downtime equaled 55,000 tons of production volume.

The company has not changed its 1997 production forecast of 650,000 tons.
