REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAJALENGKA – The Persatuan Ummat Islam (PUI) supports the continued direct subordination of the Indonesian National Police to the President in order to maintain national stability. The General Chairman of the PUI’s Central Executive Board, Ust H Raizal Arifin, stated that there must be consistent improvements in maintaining the security and stability of the country.

“For PUI, the agenda for improvement must be consistent and sustainable, including in maintaining the security and stability of the nation. PUI’s stance is very clear and firm, namely that we fully support the Polri remaining directly under the President,” said Raizal during the peak of the 108th anniversary celebration of PUI at the Santi Asromo Islamic Boarding School, Pasirayu Village, Majalengka Regency, Monday (23 February 2026). The event was attended by thousands of participants from various regions in Indonesia.

He also stated that he had asked the Deputy General Chairman of PUI, Irfan Ahmad Fauzi, to send an official letter of support from PUI to the President, the Minister of State Secretary, the Speaker of the DPR RI (House of Representatives), and the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI. Raizal hopes that the police institution, under the leadership of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, will become increasingly professional, fair, and protective of the community in line with the spirit of Presisi.

On this occasion, he also expressed his gratitude for the existence of PUI, which has been able to survive and develop for more than a century. According to him, this achievement is the result of the sincerity and strong vision of the founders and previous generations in maintaining the organization.

Raizal also reaffirmed the importance of the islah (reconciliation/improvement) movement as the main spirit in PUI’s da’wah (Islamic propagation), education, and social work.

“Islah is the spirit, enthusiasm, and agenda in PUI’s work. If equated, the word islah can be interpreted as impact. PUI not only works to do good, but at a higher level, namely to bring about real and measurable improvements,” he emphasised.

Raizal also stated PUI’s commitment to contribute to the realization of Golden Indonesia 2045 through the preparation of superior and moral generations. According to him, the spirit of islah requires PUI to strengthen synergy and collaboration with various parties.

“Improvement requires collaboration from many parties, especially in order to achieve Golden Indonesia 2045, which is only 19 years away. As the inheritors of the struggle of the founding fathers and national heroes, PUI must be at the forefront of carrying out improvements in various sectors of life,” he said.
