The Ministry of Public Works (Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum, PU) confirmed the readiness of national road infrastructure, including both non-tolled and toll roads, to support the smooth flow of the Mudik and balik Lebaran 2026. Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said the readiness of the national road network is a government priority ahead of Lebaran homecoming.

Non-tolled national roads totaling 47,603.39 kilometres are currently in a robust condition, with a readiness level of 93.5%.

Meanwhile, the toll-road network ready to serve Mudik amounts to 3,115.98 kilometres across various regions of Indonesia. Dody confirmed the fulfilment of the minimum service standards (SPM), the operationalisation of additional toll-free toll-road segments, and the preparation of extra rest and service facilities (TIP) that are both operational and functional.

Director General of Bina Marga Roy Rizali Anwar said the Ministry has prepared a number of strategies to ensure smooth Mudik and balik Lebaran, especially on main corridors predicted to see increased traffic.

“Strategic measures include ensuring all national roads are in solid condition, free of potholes, and all ancillary road structures are in good condition so that travellers can pass safely and comfortably,” he said.

To anticipate potential disruptions on Mudik routes such as natural disasters or infrastructure damage, the PU Ministry has prepared a Disaster Relief Unit (DRU) comprising heavy equipment, materials, and supporting personnel on standby in various regions.

A total of 1,461 equipment units have been prepared and distributed across Indonesia during the Mudik standby period to speed up response if disruptions occur on national roads. In addition, emergency materials such as Bailey bridges, gabions, sandbags, cold mix asphalt, and other rapid repair materials have also been prepared.

The Ministry also prepared 496 Mudik posts across Indonesia to monitor road conditions and provide technical support on the ground. The posts function as hubs for traffic condition monitoring and rapid response to any disruptions on Mudik routes.

As a source of information for the public, PU provides the Lebaran Route Information Microsite accessible at mudik.pu.go.id. The microsite can be used to obtain up-to-date information on the status of national and toll roads, congestion or disaster hotspots, the location of Mudik posts, and available infrastructure services along the Lebaran 2026 Mudik routes.

Information services can also be accessed through monitoring apps provided by BUJT such as Travoy by Jasa Marga and HK Toll Apps by Hutama Karya. In addition, the public can file complaints about the condition of national and toll roads via the ‘Halo Pak Dody’ channel accessible through the Minister’s Instagram account @dody_hanggodo.

Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo announced that toll road toll discounts for Lebaran 2026 have increased to 30% from nine days before (H-9). Check the schedule and government strategies to ease congestion here.

Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said that the repair of the national road network in Parung, West Java, is targeted to be completed within one to two months.

Minister Dody Hanggodo also confirmed that residents affected by the landslide disaster in Tegal, Central Java, will occupy temporary housing before Lebaran.

On the eastern cross-country corridor, the main connector between Banda Aceh and Medan, there were previously 13 points of damage causing access closures.

With the poor road conditions, many people have complained that the distribution of harvests or agricultural produce is not optimal.

Purwakarta Regency government continues to accelerate road and bridge infrastructure development across various regions.

‘Our target for the next five years is to widen the connecting road from Baturraden to Serang via Karangjengkol. It will become a scenic route around Mount Slamet,’ said Governor Ahmad Luthfi of Central Java, urging faster road infrastructure repairs within two weeks as Lebaran Idul Fitri 2025 approaches.
