The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) are inviting the entire community to actively participate in the public consultation forum for the preparation of the 2026 Edition of the National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda Book.

“Through this public consultation, we invite various parties to provide input so that this document becomes stronger, measurable, and impactful,” said the Director General of Research and Development (Risbang) of Kemdiktisaintek, Fauzan Adziman, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Director General Fauzan stated that the 2026 National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda is being prepared to strengthen the linkage between the direction of long-term national transformation and the implementation agenda for research and innovation in the short and medium term.

He assessed that science and technology-based transformation cannot be separated from social, legal, cultural, economic, business, educational, artistic, and religious dimensions.

Fauzan noted that the social humanities field is a key area in supporting the development of national strategic industries. Strengthening research and innovation in various sectors not only requires technology but also an understanding of society, policies, economic, social, and environmental impacts that arise.

This approach is important so that the national research and innovation agenda can support comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable development.

It is known that the preparation of the document involves 279 team members, consisting of 230 experts from universities, ministries/institutions, and industry with diverse areas of expertise.

Kemdiktisaintek and BRIN invite ministries/institutions, universities, industry, research and innovation communities, development partners, and the wider public to provide input on the document.

The public consultation document and responses to the 2026 National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda Book can be submitted until Sunday, 17 May 2026, through risbang.kemdiktisaintek.go.id/konsultasi-publik.

Input from stakeholders and the public will be an important part in perfecting this document so that it can become a strong, measurable, adaptive, and responsive strategic reference to the needs of national transformation based on science, technology, and innovation.
