PT&T deals with Koreans

MANILA (UPI): Philippine telecommunications company Pt&T and
its strategic partner, Korea Telecom Philippines Inc. have signed
a 717.6-million peso ($27.3 million) agreement with Korea
Communications Engineering for the installation of some 93,300
local exchange lines, company officials said yesterday.

Under the agreement, Korea Communications plans to supply the
materials, labor and engineering components for the project,
which is expected to be finished by the end of next year.

The contract was signed by Pt&T President Jose Luis Santiago,
Korea Telecom president Hyung Shik Kim and Korea Communications
President Deok Sik Kim.
