Jakarta — PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IV PalmCo has simultaneously dispatched 1,160 free homebound travel participants for Eid 2026 from Sumatra and Kalimantan regions.

PTPN IV PalmCo Chief Executive Jatmiko K. Santosa stated that the programme forms part of state-owned enterprise support in reducing travel risks during the homebound migration period.

“We have carefully prepared this programme to enable people to travel home safely and comfortably, whilst providing a solution to the high mobility during Eid,” said Jatmiko in a statement from Jakarta on Tuesday.

He added that the free homebound travel programme also represents the company’s commitment to providing direct benefits to communities in the vicinity of its operational areas.

“This is part of our responsibility as a state-owned enterprise to provide real solutions for society,” he stated.

In implementation, PalmCo has deployed 31 buses distributed across seven regional locations to serve 13 major routes in Sumatra and Kalimantan.

These routes cover various cities including Medan, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang and Pontianak, which are high-volume homebound migration routes annually.

The travel fleet has been dispatched simultaneously from various company operational points, adjusting to participant concentrations in each region.

Jatmiko ensured that all vehicles have undergone technical inspection and are driven by professional drivers to guarantee travel safety.

“Safety is our priority. All vehicles have undergone technical inspection and are driven by professional personnel,” he said.

The programme is deemed to help reduce personal vehicle usage, potentially lowering traffic congestion on major routes in Sumatra and Kalimantan.

Additionally, this free transport facility helps communities save on travel costs and encourages economic circulation in homebound destination areas.

Jatmiko noted that PalmCo’s role as a state-owned enterprise focuses not only on business but also on inclusive public service.
