PT Rafa Karya Indonesia has successfully completed the test commissioning of the Nipah Kuning Water Treatment Plant (IPA) investment project with a capacity of 300 litres per second (LPS) in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Reza Pahlevi, Commissioner of PT Rafa Karya Indonesia, stated that the successful completion of the test commissioning demonstrates the readiness of the water treatment system to enter the operational phase optimally.

“The successful test commissioning of the Nipah Kuning 300 LPS water treatment plant is proof of PT Rafa Karya Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening drinking water infrastructure through professional and sustainable investment schemes. We hope this facility can soon provide tangible benefits to the people of Pontianak,” said Reza Pahlevi in a statement issued in Jakarta on Monday.

This milestone represents an important step in efforts to improve clean water services for Pontianak residents.

The Nipah Kuning 300 LPS water treatment plant investment project is part of a joint commitment to strengthen drinking water supply infrastructure that is reliable, sustainable, and capable of meeting the growing water needs of Pontianak’s population.

Meanwhile, Abdullah, Director General of Perumda Air Minum Tirta Khatulistiwa (the local water utility company), expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support provided by PT Rafa Karya Indonesia in developing water supply infrastructure in Pontianak.

According to him, the additional production capacity from the Nipah Kuning 300 LPS plant will have a significant impact on expanding clean water service coverage for residents.

With the completion of the test commissioning phase, the Nipah Kuning water treatment facility is expected to begin full operational status soon, strengthening Pontianak’s drinking water supply system and supporting improvements in service quality by Perumda Air Minum Tirta Khatulistiwa for residents.

This investment partnership also exemplifies strategic collaboration between the private sector and regional state-owned enterprises in supporting the acceleration of basic infrastructure development, particularly in the drinking water sector, to realise improved public services and enhance the quality of life for Pontianak residents.
