PT Pos Indonesia Nabire Branch distributed social assistance under the Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) and staple foods totalling Rp13.1 billion to 12,282 beneficiary families (KPM) in Nabire Regency, Central Papua.

Chair of the Bansos Task Force at PT Pos Nabire Branch, Jeremias Thomas Rahaningmas, in Nabire, on Tuesday, said the social assistance distribution for Phase I (January–March 2026) took place from 2 to 8 March 2026.

‘The total social assistance distributed amounts to Rp13.1 billion for 12,282 KPM across 15 districts in Nabire Regency,’ he said.

He explained that the staple foods assistance is Rp200,000 per month, so each KPM receives Rp600,000 for three months.

The PKH amounts, he added, depend on family components such as pregnant women, the elderly, and members of the family with disabilities.

‘PT Pos only handles distribution and does not determine the PKH amounts received by families. That is the remit of the Social Ministry, which is recorded in the DTSEN,’ he said.

He noted that during the distribution, they began payments for urban residents of Nabire, then proceeded to the districts.

For KPMs unable to attend the payment location, officers will visit the recipients’ homes accompanied by PKH facilitators.

For districts categorized as frontier, outermost and most disadvantaged (3T) such as Dipa, Menou, and Siriwou, PT Pos coordinates with the Social Service and the local district head. Distribution is carried out with supervision down to the village level.

‘For distant areas, payments are usually distributed per village and handed over to the village head or trusted religious leaders, with supervision from the service,’ he said.

‘For example, in the Kalibobo region, we already carried out payments on Monday (2/3), and then scheduled again on Thursday (5/3) so residents who could not attend could be served,’ he added.

He also noted that so far no issues have been found related to KTP or population identification numbers (NIK), including duplicate NIK or suspicious data.

The main challenge in distribution is the lengthy verification process, as each beneficiary must be verified based on NIK before aid is handed over.
