Karimunjawa is safe. The strategy is layered. First, we stock up on Karimunjawa archipelago before Ramadan begins. If normally a single delivery can meet needs for about 10 days, this time the supply was increased to last for an estimated two weeks.

‘Karimunjawa is safe. The strategy is layered. First, we stock up in excess in the Karimunjawa archipelago. We ship all at once to last an estimated two weeks. So before Ramadan we have strengthened the stock,’ he said.

Fuel demand in the Karimunjawa District is estimated at 100 kilolitres every 10 days, with normal deliveries typically weekly.

The second strategy is implemented through distribution collaboration using ships owned by ASDP, where tanker trucks are transported via ferry to ensure supply continues even if weather conditions are unfavourable.

Meanwhile, the third strategy Pertamina has coordinated with the Indonesian Navy (TNI Angkatan Laut) for the possibility of distribution using warships (KRI) if high waves truly hinder regular sailing and docks do not permit ships to sail.

‘If the waves are really rough and sailing is not allowed, we have already arranged for the option to use a KRI. So the anticipations are in place,’ he said.

Based on experience in previous years, Biosolar demand in Karimunjawa tends to decline during Eid as some fishermen suspend fishing activities. Meanwhile Pertalite consumption remains relatively stable, although during Eid holidays demand is expected to rise with increased community activity and tourist visits.

Karimunjawa District itself is home to about 9,789 people spread across five islands, namely Karimunjawa, Kemojan, Genting, Nyamuk, and Parang.

With this layered distribution strategy, Pertamina ensures that residents need not worry about BBM availability during Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2026.
