Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - PT PAL Indonesia is expanding the role of women up to strategic leadership levels in line with the growing needs of the maritime and defence industries for inclusive and adaptive human resources, marked by the company’s efforts to strengthen organisational transformation through women’s involvement across various lines.

Production Director of PT PAL Indonesia, Diana Rosa, stated that women now have greater opportunities to contribute in various sectors, including strategic industries that have previously been dominated by men.

“Women have significant opportunities to contribute in various sectors, including the maritime and defence industries,” she said in Surabaya on Wednesday.

According to her, the spirit of R.A. Kartini today is no longer limited to access to education but also encompasses the courage to continue developing, taking responsibility, and providing tangible contributions within the organisation.

Therefore, PT PAL is opening wider spaces for women to develop up to leadership levels as part of the company’s strategy.

This step aligns with government policies that encourage increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions, including in state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

“Women play an important role in driving company transformation. We are committed to providing spaces that support women to develop and contribute optimally,” said Diana.

The commemoration of Kartini Day within PT PAL also serves as a momentum to strengthen this role through various activities involving more than 200 female employees.

The activities began with a Mindful & Powerful Yoga session titled Kartini’s PAL to promote awareness of the importance of physical and mental health.

Next, participants attended a workshop on work-life balance titled Modern Kartini, which discussed the importance of maintaining balance between work, family, and mental health as part of strengthening women’s roles in the workplace.
