PSSI names U-15 players
JAKARTA (JP): The Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) named 17 Under-15 players to join the centralized training program in Medan, North Sumatra. They will be coached by Briton Jim Bryden.
PSSI Secretary General Tri Goestoro said on Monday that periodic examinations would be held to detect any attempts at falsifying their ages.
"Until now, all of the players have been declared clear of involvement in any such cases. But there si always the possibility that we will carry out more checks."
Director of the centralized training program Johny Pardede said the juniors would be trained for three years, starting in mid-June.
"I have contacted soccer associations in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand to arrange some friendlies. I am planning to have a friendly match every six months. The youngsters are being prepared for the Under-19 national team." he said. (ivy)
